Justice for Jemmy

What the federal government did to Jemmy and her family shocks the conscience. This is the worst case I’ve seen in 20 years of practicing law.

Message from Attorney

Todd Pomerleau

The government took a law abiding member of our society with a fully pardoned 22 year-old marijuana possession charge—that is not even a crime anymore in Massachusetts—and treated her like a terrorist.  A mother of four US born children and a citizen husband were raked over the coals for two weeks.

The government denied Jemmy access to telephone calls to her family and lawyers, never let her know she had an attorney despite assuring us that they would, and caused her catastrophic physical and mental health issues that will never fully heal. She was deprived access to her necessary medications, never given any written notice for why she was detained, and our legal team was denied any access to her whatsoever while in CBP detention at the airport.

Unjust. Inhumane.  Unconstitutional.

Jemmy is a brave and resilient woman,  and we’re thankful that she is finally in her family’s loving embrace. The outpouring of support from friends and strangers alike has been humbling. Thank you. Special thanks to Kerry Kavanaugh of Boston 25 News and others for shedding light on this travesty of government abuse.

As a society, we need to take a stand. We must fight to preserve peoples’ rights under the Constitution to fair, humane treatment and we must receive fair play by government officials.  Our firm has her back, and so should you. In short we all must demand Justice for Jemmy!
